One of the most popular boat trips on Crete is the island of Spinalonga.
Spinalonga is situated in Mirambello Bay, close to the fishing village of Elounda and one of the most popular holiday resorts of Crete. On the island of Spinalonga, which was the last leper colony in Europe and was used as such until 1953, you can visit the ruins of a Venetian fortress and the old sanitarium. During your walk on this abandoned island, you will listen to your guide telling you all about the interesting, yet heartbreaking history of the place.
After your tour on the island, you will visit the small sandy pirate bay of Kolokitha, where you will have plenty of time to swim and enjoy the BBQ served on board.
Our last stop will be the picturesque town of Aghios Nikolaos. There you will have enough time to visit the bottomless lake of Aghios Nikolaos and relax in one of the many cafés or taverns around it.
