Chrissi Island (or the Golden Island as it is known in Greece) is an isolated, almost tropical island, located a few miles away from the southern part of Crete.
To reach this quaint island, currently under the protection of Natura 2000 Networking Programme, we have to take a short boat trip from the town of Ierapetra. The place has been characterized as a national park, since it is a wildlife refuge and an “area of intense natural beauty”.
Upon our arrival, we will have plenty of time to swim in the crystal clear waters, get a tan under the scorching sun and explore the island. The beautiful white-sand beaches with the shell fossils, the old salt marsh, the Roman tombs, the picturesque church of St. Nicolas, the volcanic rocks, the Lebanon cedar forest and the unparalleled beauty of the island are going to capture your soul and mind.
Come with us to explore this magnificent isolated island!
